Our Purpose Statement:
As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and world.

The Women of the ELCA consists of many areas of ministry. There group consists of a President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary. WELCA is involved in Synod and Women's Retreats, four different Circles, Serving Committee (which consists of seven serving teams) and World Day of Prayer.

Every Spring there is a General Meeting. Included in this meeting is an inspirational speaker and meeting discussion.

On the first Saturday of December each year, we will have our WELCA Christmas gathering/meeting. We will have a potluck covered dish and entertainment. All women are invited. Watch for more details in your bulletin.

WELCA is known best for its various Circles. Naomi, Dorcas, Miriam, and the Ruth Circle.

Naomi Circle - The Naomi Circle meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. Come join us for Bible study and fellowship.

Dorcas Circle - The Dorcas Circle meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 9:00 a.m. If this time works for you, please come and join us for fellowship and Bible study.

Miriam Circle - The Miriam Circle meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 9:00 a.m. Check us out and find out what's going on in our Circle of things.

Ruth Circle - The Ruth Circle meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 9:30 a.m.

The Serving Committee includes seven Serving Teams and one Serving Coordinator. Through Serving Teams, we encourage all women of the church to help at funerals and special events. All locally active women are on a team list. There are over 250 women at Resurrection and approximately 36 women per serving team. A Team Leader from each team is responsible for calling women on her list to ask them to donate food or serve at an event or funeral. From each team, women will be called to serve or make a salad or a dessert for each event. Women are called once or twice a year to help. We do understand that many of you work outside the home and are unable to serve at funerals during the week, just let your serving leader know that you work and you can contribute a salad or dessert item.
